What is inserting information communication technology (ICT) in teaching!?!?!?!!

Following is a news article I stumbled on the Ministry of Education website. It is amazing how they look at things and how things get publicized to the general public. I am not surprised when the news article mentioned INSERTING ICT into teaching, but I am disseminated that the “expert” who conducted this workshop was not able to provide a description of what he did with teachers.

An information technology workshop is in progress in Kaafu Atoll TRC. The workshop is aimed for the TRC Coordinators of all the atolls. The 8 day workshop will include ways of inserting information communication technology (ICT) in teaching.

The sessions of the workshop include introducing different software which can be used to plan and conduct interactive lessons in a classroom. The workshop also includes discussion sessions to see how much ICT based teaching has been practiced in the classrooms.

The sessions of the workshop are conducted by teacher educator of CCE Mr. Mohamed Aleem who is experienced in this field.

The workshop is funded by UNICEF and Education Specialist at UNICEF Mrs. Ameena Mohamed Didi participated in one session while it was in progress.
